Well, o.k. If you read the other comments, you either think this French movie's horrible or excellent. Well, my take is more middling. Some funny moments, some quizzical ones, but overall I enjoyed these two consummate French actors, who could have been helped with better writing and direction. It's a fun film, worth seeing , though it stereotypes Jews, French people, and Israel for the sake of comedy, while trying to make a few relevant points about marriage, religion, and family.

We all experience a great enjoyment and a vicarious sense of fulfillment when we perceive an individual who through sheer force of will and personality overcome an obstacle to attain success. This movie is the opposite, and there's really nothing sadder than a comedy film that just isn't funny.
I wanted to like it. It has a very good cast. The idea had merit, but after 30 minutes I just couldn't watch any more.
If you are in the mood to see a Gerard Depardieu film, then skip this one and instead watch one that succeeds: My Afternoons With Margueritte (French title: La Tete en Friche). .

This movie is one of my favorites. I love everything about it. To each his own. We all have our taste.

Easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I thought it was about a Jewish doctor who moves from the USA to France (cool) but no he and his wife (who i think converted from Catholic), decide to move to Isreal on her mid-late life crisis (Zzzzzz). There are a handful of "sweet" spots and 2 funny parts that you smile at because your rooting for Depardeu to not be in such a sucked movie. But on the whole i say, "Horridble, avoid".
