I didn't care much for the author's writing style. He makes it seem as if he were there during the events, when he wasn't, and his need to comment on the attractiveness of the young protesters is odd and makes him seem shallow.
The summary on the dust jacket mentions that the writer based his book on accounts from contacts he made when he was in Iran pre-2007, so he's simply retelling what was sent to him.
The stories are pretty interesting but would have been served better by a different author.
