One of his better mysteries.

This book starts out formulaic and moderately violent and then becomes increasingly more so with each successive part, reflecting a uniquely American and dystopian view of the world. Box chooses to celebrate a culture and a "band of brothers" who have come to believe that the "government of the people" is their enemy, that the dream of the Founding Fathers has been corrupted by bureaucrats and it's necessary to return to a magical, pure, idealistic time when robust men and women tamed the wild frontier. And the way to accomplish that is first and foremost to be armed to the teeth and simply annihilate anyone who gets in your way with a lethal barrage of gunfire. The whole thing could have been written and sponsored by the National Rifle Association. By the time I reached Part 4 I just couldn't take any more of it and gave up. I will certainly give the rest of this writer's work a pass.

Just when I thought the books could not get any better. I am going to be fans of this writer forever. Makes me wonder why someone did not give movie series rights?

I just picked up this book from the library, and I can not put it down.

Before you read this one.....you have to read " COLD WIND"....as this is a continuation of that book.

I was in Barnes and Noble one day not long ago and this author caught my attention and now I can not stop reading his books.

The Highway is a great book, I finished it in 3 days... I read it at all hours of the day and night when I could. Could not put it down.

I will read everyone of this authors books before I go on to another author.

He speaks of Wyoming and it is one of the most beautiful places on this earth....Wyoming is God's gift to nature....Going back on vacation next summer. Love this state and my favorite place is Jackson Hole, Wy.

Keep up the great books CJ. Love your stories.

First C J Box I've read. Kept my attention well, good pace and suspense. After finishing I saw plenty of holes in the plot, but they didn't disturb me while reading. Full disclosure--I can be (perhaps overly) generous that way if the pace is good and the action entertaining.

I'll probably try at least one more from earlier in the series, even though this volume was loaded with spoilers for previous books in the series.

Mostly Nate's story although he does overlap with Joe and family.

As a C.J. Box fan, I wasn't disappointed in this one. Always a good read from Mr. Box.

Joe Pickett kind of reminds me of the mythical 'Last cowboy' - always trying to do the right thing, but inevitably upsetting authority and winning the day in his own inimitable way - A great read !

A++ book. Lots of action and suspense. I love Joe Pickett's character. I will be reading the author's previous books.
