Darla's first store event is a real coup, the hottest bestselling author of the moment is holding a signing there. But when the author meets an untimely end during the event, it's ruled an accident, until Hamlet digs up a clue that seems to indicate otherwise.

What a well-written first entry in a new-to-me series! It was fresh, original, and avoided a lot of the “amateur sleuth” clichés that usually drive me crazy. There were some wobbly bits, but I’m sure Brandon will smooth out in her next book. Well done!

Even though the cat "helps" with the mystery, it's not too twee. I would read another if this became a series.
