Fourth in series but stands alone. Another police procedural, but this is a good policewoman not a super hero. The boredom, the frustration, the balancing work and life battle, and dealing with colleagues you'd like to beat to a pulp reality with none of the swagger and machismo of so many male police procedurals. I highly recommend all four of these books.
The fourth book in the Inspector Huss series
A plot-driven police procedural with wooden characters, little imagery, a clunky translation, and bad editing (quotation marks, wrong words, etc), I am surprised that I even got 1/2 way. I have no idea why I thought Tursten's other books were good. They have not been translated in the order in which they were written, and maybe the later ones are indeed better or have a better translator.
The second Irene Huss mystery I have read, I recommend this as well as the first.
LIked that I did not figure out who did it till the end. The lead character's subtle understanding of fellow officer, her family relationships and to making a full a representation of a police officer's daily life.
