An enjoyable mystery although I felt the ending was weak and the extracts from other works a little distracting and irrelevant to the story.
This was a great detective mystery with quite a bit of relevant historical information which added positively to the story rather than bog it down. Entertaining stuff.
I quite enjoyed this book--lots of historical detail and very visual. I wonder if Stephen Gallagher knows someone with Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for his description of Robert is perfect. It was a good mystery that I read over two days and would like to read more mysteries solved by The Bedlam Detective.
Interesting read. Lots of historical ambiance. Enjoyable. Worth picking up if you like historical mysteries.
Still not sure how I feel about this book. After completing it I couldn't say whether I enjoyed it or not. The plot wasn't all that compelling and the characters weren't that like-able either. Still, once I started reading it I had to know the solution to the mystery.
