"In this truly inspirational memoir, Anita Moorjani relates how, after fighting cancer for almost four years, her body--overwhelmed by the malignant cells spreading throughout her system--began shutting down. As her organs failed, she entered into an extraordinary near-death experience where she realized her inherent worth. and the actual cause of her disease. Upon regaining consciousness, Anita found that her condition had improved so rapidly that she was able to be released from the hospital within weeks. without a trace of cancer in her body! Within these pages, Anita recounts stories of her childhood in Hong Kong, her challenge to establish her career and find true love, as well as how she eventually ended up in that hospital bed where she defied all medical knowledge. As part of a traditional Hindu family residing in a largely Chinese and British society, she had been pushed and pulled by cultural and religious customs since she had been a little girl. After years of struggling to forge her own path while trying to meet everyone else's expectations, she had the realization, as a result of her epiphany on the other side, that she had the power to heal herself. and that there are miracles in the Universe that she had never even imagined. In Dying to Be Me, Anita freely shares all she has learned about illness, healing, fear, "being love," and the true magnificence of each and every human being! This is a book that definitely makes the case that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. and that we are all One!"-- Provided by publisher.

Very inspirational and hopeful Near Death Experience (NDE). Anita shared some great insights to self love that really sparked something within me. I realized that I don't want to die and realize that I was so hard on myself and didn't love myself enough like I deserved.

Exceptional ! I agree with Anita, Cancer is a fear based emotional response when you reach the point of unconsciously saying to your soul :'Beam me up Scotty'. ( I am a cancer level 3 survivor and instead of 'fighting' I 'loved' my cancer and instead of withering away, I grew stonger. ) The message is true, get into contact with the One Love and stop excluding yourself from it. Stop looking 'outside' for the life that is 'inside' of you. Life is about BEING,

Miracles, I believe in, yes. But if it's time to die then you cannot simply will your cancer away. I've seen too many strong & positive people die from this already. Give thanks to God for this second chance, but don't congratulate yourself. Let's be realistic.

“It was then that I understood that my body is only a reflection of my internal state. If my inner self were aware of its greatness and connection with All-that-is, my body would soon reflect that and heal rapidly.”
Anita Moorjani tells a wonderfully inspiring story of how she healed herself from cancer. As any yoga master will tell you, “ ‘Cancer is just a word that creates fear. Forget about that word, and let’s just focus on balancing your body. All illnesses are just symptoms of imbalance. No illness can remain when your entire system is in balance.’”
Moorjani believes that had she known the truth of who she actually was (a divine spirit), she would not have gotten cancer. “My many fears and my great power had manifested as this disease.” She believes that our bodies are only a reflection of our internal state and that if we chose to be aware of the greatness within, our bodies too can heal this rapidly. She has faith that we can rid our bodies (and get rid of cancer) with our minds - by shifting our belief systems to one of joy, love and happiness.
This story starts off with Moorjani relating her restrictive cultural awareness and her self-limiting beliefs and ends with a wonderful proclamation for everyone to be rejoiced and celebrated. Moorjani starts healthy, gets cancer, and has a near death experience, then recovers to a new and improved version of herself. This is so refreshing and intriguing. This is an amazing story for all cultures, religions and life styles. Moorjani’s message is for everyone to live life in the moment and let go of worries, fears and things you cannot control.
This is a quick story and an inspiring read.

I have read several NDE accounts, the line of impact for me in this one is "What if this life is heaven?" Think about it...

It is an inspirational book; the content is put into words that must have been so hard to translate for Anita. How do you describe feelings any of us cannot even imagine on this plane? It is a fascinating story of one person who has peered through the veil into the everlasting life. It is well written and I am glad I had a chance to read it; I know it will change my life in some way.
