The drawings are OK but for a story with such a complex plot and so many key characters, a graphic novel simply doesn't work. I will pass all future volumes.

It might be blasphemous, but I liked the graphic novels better than the books. Stays true to the spirit of the novels, and much less time-consuming to read. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Couldn't finish it. The illustrations are cheesy.

I am usually not a fan of graphic novels, but this one was excellent!

This is a fantastic alternate adaptation to George R.R. Martin's bestselling series. The detail is awe-inspiring as the artists attempt to get as close to Martin's original intent as possible, give the medium's limitations. They succeed in portraying Martin's Westeros in a way that never could be done by HBO's adaptation. I look forward to Volume 2.

As a years-long summer ends the intrigue of the Game of Thrones arrives at Winterfell. King Robert Baratheon invites Lord Eddard Stark, his best friend, to return with him to King's Landing to serve as his Hand.

Beyond the Wall, something ancient and cold awakens, sending the Wildlings running. Only the ancient Wall and the Night's Watch guarding it can keep these Others at bay, yet the Seven Kingdoms have manned it with criminals and bastards for thousands of years.

Across the Narrow Sea, Viserys Targaryen plots to retake the throne he sees as his by birthright, with the promised force of the barbarian Dothraki.

Westeros is about to be engulfed in a war for which it is not ready.

In the name of King Robert of the House Baratheon, the First of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, by the word of Eddard of House Stark, Lord of Winterfell, and Warden of the North, I do sentence you to die.
