World-building aside, this novel is somewhat dull and flat. I was disappointed and hope Ms. Lackey rediscovers her stride soon.

Very enjoyable. Loved seeing the returning characters Sarah and Nan coming into their own as young ladies and the new Water master Mari is fantastic too.

Expect cameo's from a few old friends and an enemy from the mundane world.

This was a great book! Although this is the latest in a series, characters from earlier books rarely have more than a cameo. This novel, however, centered on three ladies, two of whom were featured in an earlier book! I liked the continuity!
