As war surges in the dystopian society around her, sixteen-year-old Divergent Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

In the dequel to Divergent, Tris Prior is safe housing at the Amity compounds with her fellow survivors. With the whole city at war with its self and Jeannine looking for all the divergent, Tris must learn to embrace her own divergence and understand it, though it might prove a dangerous task.

I loved this book! Super good. It was probably as equally good as the first book, or better. Totally read if you loved Divergent.

This is the second book in a great series! Very entertaining for me (read as a freshman in college) and thought provoking too.

I love this series! Since I am always confused about which book comes next and stuff here's a guide: #1 Divergent #2 Insurgent #3 Allegiant. And Four is Tobias's point of view and takes place in the past but it also overlaps a few chapters into Divergent (it contains spoilers too)

Just warning you, 79% of the book is Tris and Tobias working on their relationship problems. And the other 29% is them making out.

Excellent follow up to the first book. While a few choices leave you scratching your head, it all makes sense if you read it right. With a tragic look into the girls psyche, her inner struggle, and a twist so out of left field, it leaves you wondering, how is this gonna end?

This was a really good book, it was just as exiting as divergent, but better.

Umm... this was better than Divergent? That's about all I can say, because Divergent didn't leave Roth a lot to work with, but she managed. If you're looking for a lot of action, you're not going to get it. This novel is about backstory. Roth spends a lot of time creating backstory for what essentially was a completely illogical novel (Divergent), so that it somehow makes a little more sense. Also, we start to see how the society in Chicago is breaking down. Abnegation (selfless people) have had all of the political power because it seemed safest. Of course those smarties over in Erudite are thinking, "they may be selfless, but they're stupid. Let's take control of this city!" So we get to see how those Dauntless folk, who are known for flinging themselves on and off of moving trains and not for their brains, get used and abused by all of the above. I liked how the factionless become more important in this story as well. It was a shot in the arm of logic that the story needed. So, all-in-all a fun story that's not going to change your life. (Obviously I had more to say than I thought).

A hit with both teen and adult readers, Insurgent is the action-packed, emotional adventure that inspired the major motion picture starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, and Octavia Spencer.

As war surges in the factions of dystopian Chicago all around her, Tris attempts to save those she loves–and herself–while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris and Four are still trying to resolve the conflict among the factions. Now the factionless want to be part of the action. Big surprise is that Four's mother is the leader of the factionless and Tris doesn't trust her. This leads to problems between Tris and Four causing Tris to be reckless at times. In the end Tris and Four forgive the past, start to trust again, and tell the other they are in love. There is continued testing on the Divergents with betrayals.

Background info about Divergent: It's all about the Erudite wanting to controll the Dauntless people to attack the Abnegation.
Now in Insurgent, Tris, Tobias and others of the Abnegations went to Amity headcorters to seek shelter. The Erudite found out and everyone had to run again. Then one night out of no where two of Tris's friends were being controlled and jumped off the building threatening that if one divergent person is not in the Erudite headcorters by__ this would happen again.
Basically, it is a fast pace book with people on the edge of their chairs waiting for what is to come in this book.
