Like most books the second and 3rd aren't as good as the first. This book did start to get better in the last half of the book. I thought "Vi" was weak in this book, and made the book boring when I was reading about what was happening in her life.

Kimberly Derting continually refuses to disappoint. WHen rating books I am very relunctant as to give a perfect five stars to any book, and at first I had given it a four and 1/2 but then thinking back, I can't see anything that would keep me from doing so. I have loved the whole series and each book is independently great, this last one and the first installment in the series, The Body Finder, were probably my favorites. The only thing I wished were different would be the smaller roles of Violets "regular" friends from school, I had really begun to like them and each character had brought a little extra something to the table, but it was still a terrific read. I find that often when reading books when action is involved it can be hard to really make it feel real and heart racing, but Derting is an author that can succesfully acheive that. Definitely a favorite series and new favorite author!

Can't agree with those who did not like this installment in the body finders series. Violet is a great character and the idea behind this series is very intriguing. Sooooo glad that there is a set up for more!

I'm really excited to read this book though I've read mixed reviews. I'll still read it and see if I like it, but even if I don't I'll most likely read the fourth one too. I hate leaving a series unread

Honestly, I was really disappointed with this book! I really wanted to like it but, agreeing with Vitriolic7Eyes on pretty much everything, the first book was amazing, the second was average, and this one... disappointing. If it was just a book, it would've been fine, but considering it was the last in a series that held so much potential I was really upset. It was achingly slow until the middle of chapter 21, and then everything up until the epilogue was way too fast! I found the whole ordeal with James Nua just really awkward and mostly, emphasis on mostly, pointless. The whole love triangle with Rafe, Jay and Violet didn't seem really real. There was no conflict between Rafe and Jay, making me think they didn't care which one she ended up with. Positively the worst part of this whole book though was the epilogue. Totally. Stupid! It was really very aggravating and pointless unless you were setting up for another book in the series, but (almost thank God because it wasn't all that bad) considering the name is The LAST Echo, I guess there really was no point in that last attempt for emotional fuzzies in the book.
