I agree with tuttleiz's take on this book.

2nd in the series. It was okay, just seemed to move really slow and dealt a lot with Maeve's relationship issues with Rob and her discrimination she feels she faces being a woman in a man's police force more than the actual murders/police action.

I really like this series and the protagonists. Looking forward to more.

Promising start limps into an unexciting police procedural / murder mystery. The author stops exploring terror and criminal investigation in order to develop an uninteresting romance and focus on too much "girl" talk. This is the second book with Maeve Kerrigan as the investigator and I will not be reading the third.

I'm a big fan of British mysteries and I will be adding Jane Casey to my must-read list.
