This was a delightful book about a class full of students (various animals) who took a hike up High Hill to visit a weather observatory. Along the way we learn facts about animals and the weather. Many of the interesting facts were new to me. For instance: You can tell the temperature by how fast a cricket chirps. There was a large variety of animals (including unusual ones like a narwhal) and insects on this hike giving plenty of learning opportunities for children

The illustrations are very colorful and fun. There is a lot to see in each picture. This book could be read several time and new things would be seen each time.

Miss Mingo Weathers the Storm is advertized for grades K-3. Children of these ages would love this book and learn from its fun and humorous style.
