German writer Jutta Profijt won a German award for this book...I do not get why. This a fish out of water, odd couple, hard edged crime story that moves from witty, to gritty, and back again. The problem is I could not like either character. Pasha (Sasha) a small time crook who would sell his mother, and did cheat his girlfriend; with out remorse. (women are objects that are rated by breast size.) Dr, Martin Gansewein is spineless, with no common sense, who slowly breaks down under the stress. (and can a grown man, and Doctor never have seen a hooker before?) He lets Pasha drag him from one disaster to the next, so what happens is expected. It ends on an unsatisfying cliff hanger.
