I love this series because each book is such a quick read! It's a fantasy novel with 306 pages, so you know all the unnecessary bits have been cut out. There is excellent pacing throughout the novel---at no point did I feel the action drag. Another bonus: there're no long, detailed descriptions about the setting or appearance of the characters.

I also love the protagonist! The tone of voice he uses to provide that first-person perspective is sometimes sarcastic but often really humourous.

I can tell Stewart's working her series into something big, because that hospital scene towards the end...what happened there?? >.< Can't wait 'til the next book!
