Given the fact that this book is not written by a Doctor, Psychologist, or Nutritionist it is quite well-written. It is easy to read and should be easy to follow. However, some of the information appears dated. The Audio recording is good and a worthwhile companion.

Brain Power: Improve Your Mind as You Age --- by Michael J. Gelb and Kelly Howell. Usually when I encounter books like these, books that are frequently lumped into the category of “self help publications” I run away from them Far. Fast. But in this particular case I felt that this book might perhaps speak to me. All of us can use more brain power, memory, or whatever you want to call it. And we’re all aging. The title was intriguing. So I had incentives to crack this spine. The book doesn’t speak down too you like many self-help books do. Some are unduly folksy; some try too hard to be with it. This book says it just right. And it certainly covers a lot of bases, a lot of things that we’ve heard about elsewhere over the years. There’s no golden bullet in this book, no magic elixirs, no quick dip in the fountain of perpetual youth. What there is in this book is a lot of sage advice that may not always be presented between the covers of one book. So when you read this book you’ve almost got to make a list to make sure you put these concepts into play. And in case you doubt the truth of the book’s contents, there is an extensive bibliography at the end of the book.
