This is more about sixteen year olds drinking incredibly heavily with the support of many very drunk adults than about any kind of coming of age movie.
It gets tiresome to watch it, like it gets tiresome any time you have to deal with a whole bunch of drunken sixteen year olds.
Watchi it if nothing better is happening.

OK, not great. Jitters is pretty much like the BBC series Skins but set in Iceland and not as interesting as Skins. The description of the film really misrepresents it as it's more of an ensemble piece with multiple storylines about various Icelandic teens. The story of the main character, Gabriel, isn't really explored that well. Had the film just focused on Gabriel's story it might have been much more interesting.

Very interesting true to life story of how gay youth cope with life and their feelings.

How is it possible that a movie this well observed, this well-written, this well-acted, this well-directed could come out of Iceland? I only say this to point out the disparity between "foreign" movies and those made in the USA. As in so many areas, America is quickly loosing ground, no longer the cutting edge in intelligence or thought, or math or science. Anyway, this film belongs in the same category as the brilliant English TV series "Skins" for its brutal and honest and humerous depiction of teenagers growing-up and trying to survive mis-guided or absent parents, and sometimes each other. In the center of the story is a sweet boy who gets his first crush-Jitters-on another boy.
