From a professor who teaches creative writing I would have expected better! So stilted and often did not make sense. Most notably, why would an Amish girl never mention or think about God? The author probably wanted to make this book more appealing to a secular audience but it just made it even less convincing. A shallow read but perhaps would be enjoyed by age 12 or under.
