Since Stankonia, 13 years before fusing with El-P to become the empire-toppling media force (if you somehow still don't know - as a joke they listed among their merch a remix album made entirely of cat noises purchasable for $40,000... somebody crowd founded it into existence for more than $65k - look up Meow The Jewels) that is Run The Jewels, Killer Mike has been criminally underrated. However, RTJ's precursor, R.A.P. Music (also produced by El-P) remains the oh so glorious high point of all rap in this decade, even with To Pimp a Butterfly breathing down its neck. Killer Mike for president. - Joe

Killer Mike has been around for a while (he was on an Outkast song in the early '00s), but it was his sixth album that really brought him attention. Produced by El-P, it's an aggressive, but eloquent album that recalls the dense political rap of Public Enemy. Following this collaboration, Mike and El-P formed Run the Jewels, who have been unstoppable over the past few years. Also see El-P's "Cancer for Cure."

I wish I could give this ten stars, it is just that good! "Reagan" in particular is amazing, but from start to finish this is a completely engrossing and profanely political powerhouse!
