A Memoir

My Almost Certainly Real Imaginary Jesus shows just how easy it can be for a young homosexual to fall headlong into fundamentalism, venturing into the very heart of enemy territory and the church's false promises of altar calls and sexual cures. Barth particularly addresses the disconnect between the radical and very human Jesus of history and the church's supernatural savior.

Meet Kelly Barth on Saturday, April 14, 2018 (1:00 pm) at the east gate of the Baker Wetlands for Local Authors Outside! I am in awe of the wise-wit of this Lawrencian!

A little slow moving at times, it took me a long time to get through this book even though it's quite short. That being said, there are interesting parts - and the writer is a bit comedic. The story details the writer's very long coming out process, due largely to her christian faith.
