Rather long. Some parts of the story are unnecessary

I liked it. Pretty dark though.

Suuuuper dark and upsetting. Love me a good Dick Grayson as Batman story, and the focus on the Gordon family and their demons was very welcome. And that Jock/Francavilla double threat on art? Mmmmboy. So good.

(Don't read late at night, you will seriously get nightmares).

One of the last "post-Crisis-pre-Flashpoint" stories, featuring Dick Grayson as the Batman of Gotham. A very good story on multiple levels: the passage of time for our assorted heroes and antagonists, the ability to see what's right in front of us and the blind spots we carry with us about such things...worth my time.

Very dark. I wouldn't recommend reading at night with this. Lots of blood.

An awesome book! Great story and gives alot of background about Gordon Jr. Still don't like the Red Robin name, looks balder than me too... definite good read though. I miss Bruce Wayne as Batman and it seems like the villians do too!!

A compelling collection of Batman stories from before the reboot, with the former Robin, Dick Grayson, wearing the cowl as Batman. This one features a character from the murky past of the Batman mythos, Commissioner Gordon's son James, who as it turns out has issues. That would be an understatement. Snyder has a good take on the characters, a lighter touch to this Batman, and it works exceedingly well.

Scott Snyder definitely brings a cool perspective to the Gotham mythos, and this is one of his greatest works in my opinion. Dick Grayson as Batman was fantastic, he brings a lighter side to the mythos and his progression through the ranks was great to see pre-New 52.

I enjoyed this. Scott Snyder is really getting into Batman and more so Gotham City quite well. Bringing in some fresh entreaging vileness which is tough, crossing stories over multiple characters and titles very well and works excellently well with his artists. He seams to understand the batisems and has no fear in playing with them. It is nice seeing this work creating a elegant bridge between the movies and the comics.

This is the best Batman book I've read in a long, long time.
