Add a CommentGood movie with on how Morse get the Jaguar, taste for beer & who mentored him in the 1960s. Clothing, cars & slang bang on.
At first it was difficult for me to connect young Morse with old Morse, but as the film progressed it became easier see the roots of the old guy developing in the kid. Pretty damn good prequel to the whole kit and caboodle, Endeavor to Hathaway.
I gave it 4 1/2 stars because I did not want it to end. Shaun does a remarkable performance of a young Morse. Besides an hour and a half with Shaun Evans is charming to say the least. For those who enjoy great detective mysteries this is for you too.
Overrated and boring. Did not finish*********
Bravo for this outstanding presentation. It is better than many if not most of the movies being shown today in my opinion.
Excellent film...Evans does an incredibly believable characterization of young Morse. The plot veers off-course at the end, but with justice in the end.
Having watched the entire Inspector Morse series was curious out what he was like when younger. This did not disappoint. Enjoyed the plot and acting. Look forward to the rest of the series.
Endeavour is definitely worth picking up if you have watched either the Morse or the Inspector Lewis TV series. And even if you haven't, Endeavour is a fantastic British crime drama in its own right. It just helps if you know some of idiosyncrasies of Detective Endeavour Morse which forms the basis of this superb modern-day reenactment of the old Morse series.
Both my husband & I absolutely love this program!!!!!!! Can't say enough about it. Try it out for yourself.
I enjoyed this DVD! I am looking forward to watching series 2 and 3.
