Meet the gun-slinging, poker-playing, woman-chasing, Maverick brothers, Bret and Bart.

Each week, on TV's Maverick, these 2 handsome, rugged, wisecracking, bachelor dudes of the Old West found themselves in one wild and challenging adventure after another.

Always managing to meet up with a vast array of villains and damsels in distress, the brave and cunning Maverick boys never failed to right the wrongs and, as expected, get down to playing yet another game of "high stakes" poker.

Filmed in b&w, this rip-roaring, good TV Western, from the late 1950s, was a star-studded show that boasted appearances by such well-known actors-of-the-day as Adam West, Chad Everett, and Roger Moore, to name but a few.

I just love this series. I didn’t watch when it was first on TV, I was not yet born, but my parents did. My mother was a big fan of James Garner, and I’m sure one of the reasons is that he resembled my father! Both James Garner and Jack Kelly are funny and very charming—and I couldn’t get enough of their charming, cynical “friend” Dandy Jim Buckley (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.). One of the best things in this series is that women were not yet made to act like men, they were quite feminine. Even when fending by themselves, like Samantha (the lovely actress Diane Brewster) in the episode “According to Hoyle,” they keep their femininity intact. If you are looking for macho-women, this is not the series for you. So, I say, hurrah to the good old times!
