I reserved "Dead Stars" after reading a good review in the Wall Street Journal (July 25, 2012). As a satire on modern Hollywood, you might expect some of the narrative to delve into pretty low-life subject matter. Oh yes, to the nth degree; after 50 pages, this book has been mostly focused on hard core pornographic descriptions. This book is beyond repulsive. Maybe that's the author's intent - be repulsed and disgusted. Now let me read another 550 pages to feel really repulsed.

The author seems to have done his research in porn - you'll need to Google to find out what his characters are obsessed about (on second thought, that's not a good idea). Maybe the story goes somewhere in the next 550 pages. There may even be a few who can get some literary satisfaction from wallowing in "modern literature". Bruce Wagner has apparently even won literary awards - what standards we have today! Might even be some academic pinhead eager to put it on a "Must read" library list.
Advice: check out just about any other book in the ClevNet system.
