Good story but I personally wasn't inspired. I think it's arguable to say she "came out of nowhere". She had been a swim captain on teams since she was a small child. The idea of up and becoming a pro athlete isn't that far fetched when someone can focus all their time on only that single thing.

Chrissie is an inspiring athlete. I read this book right before running my first marathon and I think it helped me train mentally. Is she crazy? Maybe a little, but you learn to love her all the more for it!

Inspiring story of committing to a path in life and then doing everything to achieving your goals. And I was feeling sorry for myself about a sports-related injury; this book put that into clearer perspective and made me look beyond that.

She has led a very interesting life, not always focused on athletics. She didn't even become a professional athlete until she was 30. And she is all about the positive, this book was really refreshing to read.

Far from a career athlete, Wellington was an international aid worker when she took up running to lose weight and found she was pretty good at it. Triathlon glory followed, but accompanied by self-doubt in her path to the elite corral.
