Quotes
Add a QuoteWhen she was gone Thorne let out a low whistle. "I know, I know. She seems a little" -crossing his eyes, he swirled both fingers around his ears- "but it's really part of her charm, once you get to know her."
"I knew they would kill me when they found out, but…” He struggled for words, releasing a sharp breath. “I think I realized that I would rather die because I betrayed them, than live because I betrayed you."
- Wolf
Thorne: "A captain always knows where his ship is. It's like a psychic bond."
"If only we had a captain here."
“Her mind emptied of everything but the gusting wind and how fragile Wolf looked in that heartbeat, like one movement could break him open.”
“I think I realized that I would rather die because I betrayed them, than live because I betrayed you.”
“We met less than a week ago and in that time I've done nothing but lie and cheat and betray you. I know. But if you give me a chance...all I want is to protect you. To be near you. For as long as I'm able.”
“I know what it's like when you can't get no one to listen to you. When what you say don't matter. I half think every girl knows what it's like to be silenced.”

Add a Comment(Warning, mild spoilers ahead. Nothing super big, but if you're a purist, stay away.) Aaaahhhh! I am so in love with this book! Just as good as the first which I didn't think was possible. It's so perfect. I love the way the plot switches from Scarlet and Cinder. Scarlet is also another great character. Her and Wolf's relationship is the best. At the end it's revealed that she is still scared of him and I think that it makes the story so much more realistic. He's an animal and she does have a reason to be scared of him even after all they've been through. On the other side, Cinder and Kai don't even get to see each other! They are separated the whole time! My anticipation for Cress is EXTREME. The few chapters centering on Kai are so well written. His feelings are so confused with his hate for Lunars, his old prejudice against cyborgs, and his lingering love for Cinder. The author has done a fantastic job.
Previously, Cinder was imprisoned due to the peace treaty between the Earthen Union and Luna. She also discovered she was Princess Selene, the rightful heir to Luna’s throne. She attempts to break out of prison and Thorne ends up tagging along.
On the other hand, in France, Scarlet’s grandmother is kidnapped and she is determined to find her. Will either of them survive Queen Levana’s wrath?
This book had a lot of action and an intriguing plot. Great for someone looking for an adventure book.
A Little Red Riding Hood retelling that has a plot that keeps your attention and writing that is engaging. The characters are fleshed out and entertaining and, overall, this was a pretty good read.
Great book. I was really looking forward to this book, because my friend connected with Scarlet. It did not let me down. Such good incorporation of all the characters, and I found my self struggling to get thru it, that's how good it was. So exited for Cress.
Oh my word. Got this one two or three days after I finished Cinder and was not disappointed. Scarlet is awesome. If I actually met her, I would feel like I'd gained a sister. She's not afraid to speak her mind, she works for what she gets... This girl is amazing.
And Wolf. Can we talk about Wolf for a minute? From the moment Scarlet thought he would ask for the whole pig, I was on his side. He's a complex character who falls into the category of 'fictional characters I just want to hug', and I really get where he's coming from. I'm excited to see more of him. He's like Bucky Barnes in a way, but with tomatoes instead of plums. Is that a weird parallel? Probably. Do I like it? Yes.
As for the plot, I yet again enjoyed it. I don't feel like there was as much insight into Scarlet's thoughts and character, but that's because there are more protagonists in this book then there were in Cinder. It's not overwhelming, and each one is important, but I didn't learn as much about the characters as I would have if it was just Scarlet's point of view.
Overall, a good book!
A delightful second book in The Lunar Chronicles where Cinder’s past is uncovered more and three new characters are introduced. I may have once more guessed many details about this but liked it still. I kept turning pages to see how it all turned out.
I really liked this book!
I like how this isn't a copy of Little Red Riding Hood even if some of it is based off that story. I like the unique plot and characters, especially Wolf's over-protective personality.
Some parts of the book I skipped, since I don't like it when the description of a thing is too long (but I know it's a requirement so that was fine.)
The reason why I gave this 4 stars is because some parts could get a teeny bit boring, but otherwise it was good. And books can always improve!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK SERIES! Sooooo good! This is probably my favorite so far but I’m loving Cress too! Wolf is sooo cool❤️ and so sweet! Him and Scarlet AWW! Him and tomatoes aww! Anyway the book is sooo good! Best sequel to a series!
I read this book to fulfil the goal read a book with an item of clothing on the cover. not quite as good as the first book in the series, but still good. it has a lot of possibilities. it will be interesting to discover which way this series will go.
The Lunar Chronicles only get even better in the second installment, Scarlet. Super satisfied by how the story plays out and how good it is. The whole series is a must read and a win for Marissa Meyer
