Excellent book. Lescroart is good at portraying some of the frailties of people, particularly the habit of habit of continuing to going down a harmful path even though professing a desire to change.

The book is well written and the author brings out a solid cast of characters with strong dialogue. Unfortunately, the plot seems to go around in circles and at times it feels like the author was not sure where he wanted the book to go
