Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan's mission is to bring closure to families whose loved ones have vanished. She knows their anguish -- her own beloved daughter Bonnie was taken from her when Bonnie was just seven years old. It is only recently that mystery was resolved and Eve could begin her journey to peace. Now Jim Doane wants the same kind of answers Eve had longed for. His twenty-five-year-old son may or may not be dead and he has only burned skull fragments as possible evidence. He cannot go to the police without risking his own secrets. Doane needs Eve Duncan's skills and he'll do anything to get them.

(Book 16 in the Eve Duncan series)The Eve Duncan series when she was a forensic sculptor and solved mysteries / crimes were great. This new fantasy / supernatural direction is ridiculous and a mess. If I wanted to read science fiction I would do so. Terrible!! Horrible! Never again. Kristi & Abby Tabby

A Comic Book....not worth the time.

Was glad to see other people stating that after 12 books which I really enjoyed, the Eve thing has gotten really old. Jane and Quinn, really, get over it! Johansen was my favorite author. Not so much now. I hope future books are more like others that I have read and enjoyed.

There's a lot going on in this book, I almost postponed reading it. I just had to put down an animal and Jane's "Toby" isn't doing well. But Eve get's kidnapped, Jane get's shot, Eve's father is introduced???, and two more titles are introduced that might be an ending for Eve Duncan??? Hunting Eve, Silencing Eve coming later in 2013.

I am reading this now and I am thinking that Iris Hohansen is bored with Eve. Ha ha.

I was so excited to see a new Eve Duncan trilogy. There is nothing new about it. I read half of Taking Eve. No need to read any further. I think with Ms. Johansen would have ended her Eve series with the last trilogy of Eve, Quinn and Bonnie. I like her stories but would like a new story with new characters. This book was stale.

Unusual way to sell more books.
Story is so predictable.

I've been reading the "Eve" series from the beginning, but recently with degrading appreciation. First the supernatural aspects started to expand(Bonnie was OK) and now the series has turned into a soap opera( must watch/read the next episode to find out what happens,etc.,etc.) Sorry, I don't watch and I don't read soap operas. Looks like the last one for me.Maybe something will come from her Catherine Ling series.
p.s. Check out her triple book jacket art @ www.fantasticfiction.co.uk. If not unique, certainly unusual.

Dragging too much. Back and forth, back and forth. I read 95% of her books. She is loosing. Gosh, what a waste of time and trees. Hope the next new ones worth my time. :(
