The story of China's 8,000 terracotta warriors begins two centuries before the birth of Christ. The First Emperor of China was preparing an extravagant tomb for his journey into the afterlife, and decreed that he be protected forever by a monumental army. Since then no one has seen these ancient warriors in their original splendor, brightly painted and fully armed, ready to protect their Emperor for all eternity. Now this once mighty army will be returned to its former glory for the first time.

Very enjoyable!! Great to know about the First Emporer of China and why & how these artistic statues came to be. (His extravagance is our enjoyment!)

I was / am fascinated that the artistic chemists from 2200 years ago created a paint for these 240 BC statues that might be used to advance our computer technology today!!

The story is magnificent as the Terracotta Warriors by themselves. It contains factorial and education materials of outstanding archaeological value and criminal or mystery-like dramatisation about whole project of The First Emperor of China (about 240 BC). It shows how modern XXI c. technology and unique local and international expertises collaborate toward restoration of this discovery. We cordially recommended the program for people of all ages.

Even if you saw the Terracotta Warriors exhibit in Toronto, this doc was worth the watch. It was interesting to learn about the transition to using terracotta figurines from burying live people as well as to see the experiments on how to rebuild the warriors. I almost wish it had been longer. It was also greatly enjoyed by my kids (who love to learn about history and the world.)

Very informative documentary on the statues, their history, and the process into creating them.
