This is the second cookbook I've read AND USED from this author. Highly recommend for his easy, accessible recipes

Washington Post columnist and editor Joe Yonan's book is outstanding. He begins with noting his obsession to an old Bette Midler song, with the refrain "Why bother?" Approximately 31 million people in the United States alone are single and Yonan believes that many have the Why bother attitude when it comes to cooking for themselves. His book inspires those who want to cook for themselves. He gives strategies for dealing with leftovers, shopping tips, preparation tips. His cooking philosophy, like mine, is that "recipes are guidelines". This is a wonderful book to browse and be inspired by.
