"Not only is Scarlett Parker's love life in the loo--as her British cousin Vivian Tremont would say--it's also gone viral with an embarrassing video. So when Viv suggests Scarlett leave Florida to lay low in London, she hops on the next plane across the pond. Viv is the proprietor of Mims's Whims, a ladies' hat shop on Portobello Road bequeathed to both cousins by their beloved grandmother, and she wants Scarlett to finally join her in the millinery business. But a few surprises await Scarlett in London. First, she is met at the airport not by Viv, but by her handsome business manager, Harrison Wentworth. Second, Viv--who has some whims of her own--seems to be missing. No one is too concerned about the unpredictable Viv until one of her posh clients is found dead wearing the cloche hat Viv made for her--and nothing else. Is Scarlett's cousin in trouble? Or is she in hiding?"-- Page [4] of cover.

I was hooked at London and Notting Hill as the setting, but then I started the book...and I couldn't stop and ready the first three back-to-back. Super-fun series, great characters, I did find myself giggling out loud several times too. Adore this series.

I can never resist a cozy murder mystery! Especially one set in London, England!

Not as good as the other two series by this author. Since this one is set in London, I think I can get away with calling it twee. Not my cup of tea...

I adore the other series written by Jenn McKinlay, but was reluctant to try the Hat Shop series because I usually don't care for mysteries set in a different country. McKinlay's Hat Shop series proved to be the exception. Although the first book lays the ground work for future books, the characters were delightful and likeable, the culture differences were not off-putting, and Fred was an interesting element in the story. I definitely look forward to reading more in this series.
