Very interesting collection of articles from both science and general/popular magazines. I always love this annual collection, but this is one of the best.

A collection of mostly essays that appeared in various publications, such as The New Yorker, Outside, Scientific American, etc. Among my favorites were: the excerpt from Quammen's book on deadly viruses, Gessen's adventure aboard a Russian iron ore freighter, Marche's article about Facebook, and Rich's essay on jellyfish/immortality. This annual publication is must-reading for science enthusiasts.
