Chapter 1 of film is impressive when it make audiences feel about cruelty of World War 2. However, the next chapters of film descibe unexpected details. I know film can be fictionalized, but I suppose that events of history in film should not be fictionalized because everything occurred in World War 1 & 2 was very serious in practice.

I enjoyed this Quentin Tarantino movie, it’s done in his typical style just set in WW2. Entertaining but on the long side.

I agree with those who called this a revenge fantasy. A little cartoonish, I don't know how it compares to the original(?) 1970's version; it's compelling in its own way. I really liked Shoshana/Emanuelle, but Christoph Waltz stole this movie playing the all-knowing Nazi officer.

This uber-violent revisionist take on one of the most talked-about and filmed-about segments of world history (that is, Hitler and the Second World War) is easily entertaining, but historically accurate it is not. Not even close. It is a revenge fantasy of sorts, telling several connected stories simultaneously, like Tarantino is wont to do. The Basterds that the film is named after are Nazi hunters, but the film is also telling other characters' tales, but my favourite is one of a French cinema owner, Shoshana/Emmanuelle. Regardless, I enjoyed it and appreciate it, but as a fan of Tarantino, I know that there is always a backlash. I also really appreciated the features on the Blu-Ray, including the original Inglourious Basterds film from yesteryear, as well as a trivia challenge, roundtable discussions, commentaries, and a 6-minute fake propaganda-esque film called "Nation's Pride", which is featured heavily in the film itself. I'd definitely recommend this film, but I can understand if others object to it.

Inglorious Basterds is a film that takes place during World War 2. It follows the mission of the Nazi’s to kill off all the Jews in France and throughout Europe. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, this film is wildly entertaining. The main Nazi commander in this film is played by Christoph Waltz. Waltz does an outstanding job with his character and was nominated for an Oscar in this role. Brad Pitt is the main commander on the other side of the spectrum and he plays his role beautifully. The film captures Tarantino’s signature bloody fun while still having a very intriguing storyline. The adventure both sides go on to complete their tasks gets you hooked from the beginning. The powerful dialogue and quotable lines will make this a movie you won’t mind watching again. Overall, Tarantino delivers yet again. Inglorious Basterds is a film that combines extreme violence and fantastic acting.

Wow I can't beleive the library bought this turd on blu ray? So many classic movies out there but they bought this racist garbage which deals with a very sensitive issue (WW II) for thousands of people. There is a racist on the staff at FVRL without a doubt...

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, joke about world war 1 or 2... Ever. The plan was to exterminate the Celtic race and we know that.

I was really disappointed in this movie. It stated that Brad Pitt was the "star" of the show, but in fact it was an actor that was the "Jew Hound" that was the lead star/ In the few times you did see Brad Pitt, his acting was way below what he has become so well known for....and he is not a hero in this movie. I was really disappointed overall.
