Elusion was a great, fast read, but still had a lot of the usual YA cliches and zero world-building. We were given what the future US is like and of all places in the entire United States of America, they used Detroit. And everybody knows what shape Detroit is in right now. So how did it go from the worst in the US to a sparkling, glittery city filled with skyscrapers and all that other futuristic stuff? How am I supposed to know? It's not like they actually told me any of this stuff. It also had the dreaded insta-love, which drives me up the wall no matter what book it's in. It's funny the way the main heroine always falls for the dark, mysterious boy and always gives up her lifelong friend. Uh-huh. whatever you say. Overall, it's fast-paced and a quick read, but it's highly unbelievable and improbable, so I probably wouldn't read it again.
