I was expecting an anthology of his work, and was disappointed. Most of the book is just tiny snippets of his pieces, for instance just one page of his Midget Detective story.

I just returned from the Retrospective exhibit at Jewish Museum in New York. Wish I had much more time to spend there--it was fantastic. Art tells us Spiegel means mirror in German therefore Art mirrors man. Indeed.

This book is meant to be read as a comic book. This is a great book to read, if you are into underground comics. Art Spiegelman is one of the greatest comic book artists in the world. Period.
