Opinion

From Library Staff

Starting high school in the fall, Jessie Elliot is looking forward to the last summer when she can be stress-free about being uncool, until her BFF becomes BFF to a cool kid. What’s going to happen to her nerdy summer now?

Book is not very appropriate for younger kids, and is pretty pointless.

Jessie Elliot is a big fat chicken!!! She is scared of going to high school, her big ole dumbo ears, and most of all she is scared of not fitting in. This is the story of a nerdy girl who likes to draw and the adventures he has with her friends the summer before they enter high school. Will she fit in? Will her friends change? Will she ever grow into her ears? Maybe she will spontaneously combust from sheer embarrassment. I really loved this book and the fact that it is printed on "notebook paper" adds to the authenticity and the drama of a cute coming of age story
