Jake makes a split-second decision that saves his son from formal punishment, but plunges them both into a world of guilt, lies, and secrecy. Just when Jake thinks he has everything under control, a malevolent outsider comes forward with the power to expose Jake's secret and taunts him to the breaking point. The audio version of this is fantastic. Great reader! The plot was a cliff hanger (that is, until the last disc and ending, which I thought contrived). Still, for sheer pleasure of listening to a dramatic story, it was well worth the time. In fact, there were times when I wanted to keep driving just to hear more. It reminded me of another favorite of mine, William Landay's Defending Jacob.

Excellent Book! Needs to be turned into a movie. I'll definitely be reading more of her books soon.

Wow, what a thriller! I think it is her best book yet. Would make a great movie. 10 of 10 for me.
