Weekly Standard editor Daniel Halper provides a meticulously researched account of the brilliant calculations, secret deals, and occasionally treacherous maneuverings that led to the Clintons' return to political prominence. Not sure how the previous review calls this a 'puff piece' as the author is clearly writing from a Republican POV. There's not a single chapter that offers a glowing outcome or judgement. Perhaps there were more details or scandals that could have been covered, but this is a book the Clintons' are not likely to be handing out as Christmas gifts.
Overall, I thought most of the book was fair and properly researched, although it is far too filled with unnamed sources to be a reliable, lasting insight into the legacy of the Clinton clan.
A very positive puff piece on the Clintons, without enlightening us as to just how much damage they [which means all three of them, Bill and his legislation as president, then later as a so-called free trade agreement lobbyist, Hillary and her support for jobs offshoring and the Tata Consultancy, a financial backer, and Chelsea at Avenue Capital and McKinsey and Company, all working and profiting diligently from destroying American employment] have accomplished!
