Witty, funny, and sometimes a bit nerve-racking. Another great read from Murphy.

Mildred heads back to school excited with a fresh start after her last two and-a-half disaster-prone years.

This time the teachers are sure to adore Mildred. She has a fabulous summer project that Miss Hardbroom should be all over, the new teacher, Miss Mould, sounds very promising, and she even hit off with her archenemy, Ethel Hallow.

But, despite her high hopes for the term, everything seems to go wrong, and even though all the evidence seems to point to her, she's sure she didn't do any of it.

But when Miss Hardbroom is on the verge of expelling her, she uncovers that one little tortoise can help her prove that she is innocent, and it was actually form sneak, and goody-goody Ethel Hallow.

Full of horrors and misdeeds, this book lives up in every way to what we have come to expect from this hardly-perfect heroine.
