Perfect for any young artist. This sweet story depicts Henri Matisse as a young boy, influenced (and encouraged) by his mothers eye for light and color. Of course he would grow up to be a famous artist! The illustrations are really what tells the story. Vibrant, sharp, textured, and dreamy, Matisse's childhood comes alive. As a nice bonus, the illustrator is from Denver.
