A great movie! Great comedy from the depression year of 1933. One of Bette Davis' first starring roles, but the real star is George Arliss - an actor whose voice and face can express an amazing range of character and emotion. There's comedy, romance, villainy, and a good dash of work ethic in a story that moves fast and keeps you laughing so hard, you don't notice that there was no blood and gore to keep you awake.

Never saw a George Arliss film, and was I missing out! What a great actor, and in this charming role, he lives up to his reputation. Really enjoyed this amusing film, with Bette Davis in a sweet supporting role.
