I started at A and worked my way through (after a mistake of picking my first Alpine at random) and have found this very engaging. I am not sorry to see the series end, but I am going to miss Vida and Leo. Yes, 26 books may seem like a task, but each one is well done and worth the time it takes to sort out the enormous cast of characters. Should I live long enough, I might read the whole series again in 10 years. It is that good.

There are times when I wish there were a few more letters in the alphabet.

Since Daheim has reached 'Z', I'm going to assume that this may be the last book in this series. She reached a very amenable give and take relationship with Emma and Milo, which I wish would continue. This book did bring the reader up to date on the past history of Alpine and its denizens by having the characters bring one another up to date conversationally on things that happened previously. This worked much better than some of the earlier books in the series. The mystery solutions were more than usually interesting and the ending left Vida, Emma and Milo riding herd on the town of Alpine as they move off into the sunset.
