Born in the Midwest in the 1930s, Lillian lived, loved, and worked in Europe in the fifties and early sixties; she settled in New York and pursued the great love of her life in the sixties and seventies. Now it's the early nineties, and she's taking stock. Throughout her life, walking the unpaved road between traditional and modern choices for women, Lillian grappled with parental disappointment and societal expectations, won and lost in love, and developed her own brand of wisdom.

A lovely, quiet read exploring the sensuality and various love affairs of a single lady from a certain era. For a reader who enjoys a slow-pace.

Disappointing, boring, couldn't wait for it to end. You would think that the author was writing from the perspective of a 75 yr old. I am almost 62 and could not relate to the old fashioned style of life that I surely did not experience in my life!
