A latest collection of previously unpublished writings by the New York Times best-selling satirical author of You Can Date Boys When You're Forty reflects on his daughter's learning permit, the deviant behaviors of the men in his hometown and the loneliness of being a high-school nerd.

The subtitle of this book indicates Beer is a fast way to happiness. I would have to say the fastest way is to read this book. In this collection of humorous essays, Barry talks about common topics in a manner that tickles the funny bone. Everytime I read a paragraph, I wished I could have said that! Barry is a master of the humour genre.

I so enjoy reading humorist Dave Barry’s collections of his essays or newspaper columns because 1) I grew up partly in the same place he lives and frequently writes about (Miami and Coral Gables, Florida), and 2) it’s guaranteed that at some point I will be laughing so hard I will be gasping for air. In this book, the hysterical laughter was generated by Barry’s essay on home ownership and his husbandly duties of removing, or at least pretending to remove, the lizards that frequently invade his family’s home.
