It's a very good album, but it isn't as great as Lungs or Ceremonials. But after the masterpiece that was Ceremonials, a drop off should be expected.

Well done, but not as great as Ceremonials or Lungs

Very enjoyable 16 cut CD with excellent singing by talented Brit group, first one I've heard.
Terrific photo/booklet, too.

Now I will be checking out (literally) their Ceremonials CD per comments below.

I completely agree with wenchilds. There's a few songs that stand out but Ceremonials is the greatest album to me.

Eh, I was a little disappointed. I am such a huge fan of this band and nothing compares to their Ceremonials CD in my opinion. I listen to it regularly and probably could over and over. I just didn't feel that with this one. :(

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is the long awaited third album from rock goddess Florence Welch and her instrumental posse the Machine. Equal parts Bjork’s Homogenic and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful brings a refreshing sense of subdued theatricality that is both modern and timeless at the same time. The lyrics are much more personal and less metaphorical than Ceremonials and Lungs, however I think the added rawness creates an intimate atmosphere in which listeners can fully connect with the music. It is arguably Florence and the Machine’s greatest album to date and will no doubt please hardcore fans and create new ones alike. This is one album not to miss in 2015.
