This 1968 album looks both back to late ska music, heavily influenced by American pop, and forward to rocksteady and reggae. The opening drumwork on "Sweet & Dandy," for instance, is a glimpse of things to come. This album has several great tracks that would eventually become Maytals' classics: "Pressure Drop," "Monkey Man," and "54-46 That's My Number."
