I like donkeys and I like shenanigans. Each of Ridge's vignettes of donkey hi-jinx and home life concludes with a spiritual lesson. After putting the book down for a few days I decided that her sermonizing wasn't going to keep me from reading about donkeys and shenanigans. Why doesn't a donkey ever show up in my driveway?
For a more substantive and profound story about a donkey check out Jon Katz's Saving Simon. Katz's message about compassion is crafted for all people, not just Christians.
