Today (4/25) there is an amazing 16 minute video on Adolfo Kaminsky in the NYT. Both live with Kaminsky and his daughter, and subdued animation. So I was again reminded of this book. I read it a year or so ago and was gripped by the story - one in a million, or rather, one in six million. Kaminsky as a a teenager got a job working with dyes. He was talented, he was extraordinarily talented. I don't want this to be a spoiler review so suffice to say that he turned his talents to forging ausweiss and ration cards and passports. Thousands were saved. The Nazis were searching for The Forger, and he had some close calls. One of the reasons he survived the Drancy camp near Paris is b/c his family had Argentina papers and the consulate got him out of the camp. And he continued to forge papers.
