The seventh album by Queens of the Stone Age and it hasn't been my favourite so far. This album's sound has been a lot more uptempo and has more of a dancing feel to it than their previous works.

The seventh studio album from the queens of stoners. Familiar heavy rock sound with distinct soft male vocal. Not up to par with the works from "Queen," "Led Zeppelin" or "The Who." But nice try. First track "Feet Don't Fail Me" with two full minutes of instruments set the mood and got the rest going. 9 tunes, averaging around 5 minutes each of rock and roll.

7th album from long running rockers Queens of the Stone Age. A few things that distinguished the band from generic hard rawkers was their shifting line-up (which has now settled), their mix of heaviness and melody, and the groove their music had. They could rock your face off and make you shake your hips, something few bands can do. While they've never quite reached the heights of their first three albums, they're still worth listening too. "Villains" downplays the big rock and plays up the groove. Hell, it's almost danceable. "Un-Reborn Again" is the best T. Rex song in years and "The Evil Has Landed" sounds like a new wave band getting in a fight with a dude rock band. Only the slower songs, like "Fortress" fall flat. Fans of their older albums might miss the epic riffage of their masterpiece "Songs for the Deaf," but this a Queens album you could put on at a party and everyone would dig it.
