Picking up immediately after the thrilling cliff-hanger, Negan forces Rick and the group to fall under his will, brutally convincing them to live by his rules. To prevent further bloodshed, Rick genuinely believes they can make life under Negan, however terrible, work. But he soon learns that Negan can't be reasoned with, and they must prepare to go to war now. Victory will require more than Alexandria, and Rick will need to convince their new allies from the Kingdom and the Hilltop to band together with the common goal of taking down Negan and his army.

Add a CommentBloody season. A little uneven, but I'm still a fan of the show. Negan must go down hard!
The Negan character, Rick's nemesis, has outcrazied even the Mayor or the gentrified cannibals in past series. Though some have commented that this series is ultra violent. Things have stayed fairly true to the graphic novel. Best part is how ornate the zombies with their different types of art work. Hands down best walking dead is the "spike" zombie. This series still continues to put you on the edge of your seat. Negan character will continue in season 8, yes!
Worst season so far. I watched it only to get updated on the characters. Every season where they split up the characters is disappointing. The group is the strength of the series. Negan is just an annoying jerk. They gave a good actor horrible dialog. I wanted to fast forward thru his scenes. I figured the show would go downhill when they lost Glenn and Abraham. So many of the characters are just plain stupid. Rick and Michonne 's romance is just wrong. They were not meant to be involved. They are best friends and soulmates in this struggle, and that's where their strength lies.
The violence this season was a little to much . And the Neagan character is little bit aynoyan kept doing the same thing over and over. I was entertained though.
Better than season 6, a lot less filler episodes. The first episode could have been less gory.
We vowed not to watch it anymore if it didn't improve after last season's last episode (or 2). Well, it didn't get better. We watched 2 episodes and we said that's enough! Nauseating, just outright sick cruelty. We'll turn our attention to something that doesn't make us feel like sick, demented human beings just for watching it. We think the writers must need some major psychiatric counseling.
Really disappointing- the show ' jumped the shark ' big time this season. I didn't think they could come up with a worse character than the roundhouse kicking ' Jesus ', but lo and behold enter ' King Ezekiel '. Basically, they turned a moody and interesting Zombie show into a soap opera with cartoon characters. Too bad, by trying to appeal to all ' demographics ' they squeezed all originality out of the show.
I have mixed emotions about this 7th season. First episode was definitely excrutiating to watch, but it gains momentum, and sustains its roll till the end. The addition of a bit more humor helps. This series seems to have turned its attention to overcoming human enemies/ building community connections vs. fighting the walking dead, and that decision by the writers should be commended. I do miss some of the earlier season's character development stories though.
You thought the Governor was bad? Honey, you ain't seen nuthing.
Very emotionally draining season but definitely worth watching. Has some great moment's Negan and Rick play off each other so well.
